Our Vision

In August of 1981, the Lord supernaturally spoke to Gerald and Becky Watson and said, “Will you go to Chicago for me?” Immediately they knelt by their bed and prayed the prayer of consecration to obey the call of the Lord.

In January of 1982 they moved from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Chicago, Illinois and began fulfilling this call of God on their lives. They started the church on January 31 and as directed by the Lord, started in the downtown area of Chicago.

All that we do here at Victory Ministries Church is based upon the fact that we believe that all Scripture is divinely inspired of God and we hold to these Scriptures as our order of living.

Our vision is three-fold:

First, Victory Ministries Church is a Family Church. We believe in ministering the Word and the life of God to each member of the family, from infants to adults. Our goal is that we all be unified in the love of God and that each one of us reach spiritual maturity in Christ Jesus, our Lord. We conduct our Sunday Celebration Service, Children’s Church, Tuesday Prayer Service and monthly Miracle Meetings to help accomplish this goal. (We also conduct local outreach programs and Home Bible Fellowship Groups that meet weekly in various locations throughout the city.)

Second, Victory Ministries Church is a Teaching Center. We are a church that believes in receiving teaching from the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers that the Lord has placed in the Body of Christ, “to prepare God’s people for works of service” (Eph. 4:11). We bring in guest ministers on a regular basis to feed us God’s Word from their area of expertise. We also conduct Leadership Training within the church to disciple new believers and train those who desire to become leaders. (In the near future, we plan to re-establish our Bible School, Chicago Bible Training Center.)

Finally, we are a World Outreach. We have a vision for our neighborhoods, our city and the world. We see ourselves as a church carrying the Gospel message throughout the nations. That message is simply this: that God loves them and has forgiven them of all their sins through the shed Blood of Jesus Christ, His Son. To reach other nations, we faithfully support overseas missionaries and take missions trips on a regular basis.

This four-fold process can be summarized as follows:

1. Save The Lost  (Blade)

2. Disciple The Saved  (Ear)

3. Train The Disciples  (Full Corn)

4. Send The Trained  (Harvest)

(to “GO” save the lost)
